BEWARE DO NOT HIRE EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL AND DOES NOT HONOR CONTRACT. On 4/7/22 Darius Ciupeiu owner of Acorn Kitchen and Bath quoted us $9500 for a kitchen remodel. He was polite and good with communication in the beginning and said he would build our dream kitchen. He began our remodel 5/16 with a deposit of 50% for labor as well as up-front cash for garbage disposal and material even though he said he normally doesn’t ask for material money until the end. About three days into the remodel, he began complaining that he had a hard time moving an electrical switch and about how long his commute was. He was sloppy with grout and left exposed wires on our island and in our crawl space. He turned off our hot water and water pressure and had no idea he did it. On Monday 5/30 he asked for an additional $3500 because there was a delay for our countertops, this check was given to him. This left a balance of $1250 for labor and materials. On 6/1 I informed Darius that the delay for our countertops to measure was not two weeks, he because very impatient and pushy for us to find different countertops to which I refused. He became difficult about installing a safety railing because he did not have instructions and asked for $706 for materials. On June 12th Darius sent me a message stating that installing decorative doors and pullout drawers was not part of the contract and he would need to charge more. I let him know that I did not agree but that we could work it out. I also let him know that there was a leak in one of the pipes, exposed wire, a vent that needed to be sealed and he said he would do that. Darius agreed that all below was 100% part of his work. Darius neglected to fulfill all the following:Replacing a chandelierSealing a vent in the crawl spaceCompleting outlet installsPutting in backsplashPainting baseboardsInstalling sink and plumbingCompleting grout and tileElectrical SwitchesPull out drawers
