My husband and I worked with Joel Heilman of Realty Design Group to remodel our condo in Wicker Park. Joel helped us demo our existing kitchen, including removing an outdated looking "step" in the kitchen counter, and install new cabinets from Builders Cabinet Supply (Joel's recommendation, which turned out to be excellent). The cabinets were well-installed, perfectly level with meticulous finishing. He also helped us install a new kitchen sink, put in built ins by our fireplace, replace lighting throughout and a few other small jobs. His pricing was fair (and accurate, he did not charge us more than his initial bid, even though we had a few small changes as work went on). He also kept to the schedule that he promised. He finished on time, with meticulous results. He was prompt and responsive to all of our emails. He came to personally oversee our work and the job site was always left tidy. I've worked with several other contractors in Chicago before, but would never use anyone other than Joel again. The work was so good that every offer we received on our condo mentioned the stunning kitchen. I could not recommend Joel/Realty Design Group more highly.

We hired to Realty Design Group to renovate our upstairs bathroom. Our home is over 100 years old but that bathroom was renovated probably in the 1980's and I wanted to return it to its original vintage charm. That required a full demo; moving plumbing; updating the electrical wiring; painting; and installing antique light fixtures, lots of tile (including antique trim tiles), and a stained glass window in place of the existing exterior window.Not only was the price reasonable, but everyone on the team was great to work with and very skilled (especially the tile guys!). When issues arose (like the bath tub I selected being slightly too wide for the space) Joel was always transparent and figured out solutions to fix them. We could not be happier with our bathroom!

I had an amazing experience working with Realty Design Group on my recent master bathroom renovation. The project price was competitive, timeline was followed and team was very professional. I have two examples of Bill and the team going "above and beyond": 1) when the countertop came in Bill thought the dimensions were slightly off.. I may not have noticed, but he had the supplier recut a new counter so it was perfect for my space. 2) after the project was complete and we had sent our final check I noticed our toilet handle was sticking and Bill sent someone out to fix it that day. I would recommend Bill and his team to any of my friends. See attached for a clear before and after photo.

My partner and I renovated the downstairs floor of our new townhome and Bill Sattler's team handled every step of the process from the demo to the finishing touches. The core of our renovation was installing a new kitchen, re-doing a bathroom, and installing flooring.We are very happy with how the renovation worked out. At the start of the process we took bids from four contractors and Mr. Sattler's bid was competitive and he was the only contractor who really listened to how we wanted to use our space, our constraints, and our stylistic preferences.Mr. Sattler clearly has a wealth of knowledge in construction and design and was helpful in gently pushing back on some of my bad ideas (like cold concrete floors!) while accentuating my partner's excellent ideas. My partner was extremely hands on in selecting furnishings and finishing details.Additionally, the project stuck to the timetable and budget! Some of our peers who have started renovations during COVID have had long delays and we did not experience this at all.In particular, at the start of the project he created and explained to us a detailed timeline about when we needed to finalize certain decisions and this avoided bottlenecks.Additionally, Andy, our project manager, was excellent. He explained a lot of specific details to us about the house that helped us refine our design. Andy and Bill are a very effective, collegial team.The only slight negative, was that sometimes the work schedule was amended on a short notice and we would be notified a day before/day of workers would arrive.Overall, we were very pleased with the process and outcome and would recommend Bill Sattler and his team at Realty Design Group.

Bill and his team are the very best. They are professional, great craftsman and also honest. They remodeled our kitchen and two bathrooms, which turned out beautifully! Also, Bill and his team are very patient with particular and indecisive clients, plus with children running around 😜. Thanks Bill!
