Oak Park Kitchen and Bath, LLC. Reviews
We used Oak Park Kitchen and Bath for our gut kitchen remodel. We had a separate architect who did layout and plans, but OPKB did the rest of it. From demo work, rough plumbing and electrical, new framing and drywall, maple floor repair, detailed cabinet layout and installation, and all the finish plumbing and electrical. Our project took a long time, some due to our indecision, some due to delays in permitting from the city, but Ron was patient with us and kept us informed of the schedule and what decisions/purchases we needed to make in what order. We were very happy with the "behind the wall" work they and their subcontractors did in a challenging old building that you never know what you will find once you pull the plaster down. Ron also understood my interest in top quality finish work and they did not disappoint. Tomaz was the on-site lead and was great with communicating with us and problem solving. His particular attention to the floating shelf installation was appreciated.
June 04 · Matthew BauerRon and Tomas and all the team did a great job with our kitchen remodel. Ron helped us with design, listened to all my wife’s questions and came up with great solutions. I could not be happier with our new kitchen.
January 06 · Jeffrey EvensonI can't say enough wonderful things about Oak Park Kitchen & Bath. I used them to complete a gut/rehab on my 100-year old Chicago bungalow. Our project included a kitchen and bathroom (2) update, removing a wall, refinishing floors, insulating walls, updating the attic, painting, carpet, installing lights...the works. This was an extensive project!! The work was impeccable, the project was completed on time and on budget. The team was amazing, timely and trustworthy. Since my family lived in the house during the construction, the personalities of the workers was extremely important. I never had any issues and if given a choice, I would pick OPK&B again and again. My project was an outstanding experience and I am happily living in my updated home.
January 29 · Kelly Richmond PopeOPKB transformed our kitchen, it's just beautiful and unreal that it's ours. The team was super helpful to work with; the quality of the products, the service, the workers and timeframe during Covid was amazing we got done so quickly. We did not have any supply chain issues, so lucky. Can't thank you enough.
January 08 · Stacey EvensonTo put it simply ... our experience with Oak Park Kitchen & Bath (also Baronger Group) was one of the worst experiences of my life. We hired them for a major home renovation in late 2013 and are finally (deep breath) shut of the project now. Along the way, not everything went wrong ... but, eh, seems to me most things did. Yes, there was some good work here and there. I still like our kitchen cabinets and a carpenter did some lovely work. But beyond that, there seemed to be little that could not be fouled up, or subsequently damaged if it was not first fouled up. Expensive Anderson windows (sob) were handled and painted so callously they already look old and shabby. We have new hardwood floors that are uneven, splattered with paint under the finish and sport a large double vent in the kitchen that leads (surprise!) to nowhere. A radon system, we found, was quietly left disabled. New doors and trimwork were trashed, sometimes while they were being installed, sometimes after. A new stone countertop was permanently scarred by a can of solvent. It goes on and on. And the worst, most finger-curling frustrating part of the whole process, for me, were the constant excuses. It was the subcontractors. Someone's out sick. There were indeed some real setbacks, some crazy harsh weather and flooding, but that got spun into the reason for everything. I lost count of the number of requests, plans and instructions that were unheard, ignored or simply not followed. For days at a time, either no one showed up or maybe one small task got done. In the end, they just stopped showing up at all. This was just our experience; I know others have had good outcomes with this company. But awful, awful, awful.
