New England Reglaze Introduce
For many homeowners and property managers across Massachusetts, the thought of a full bathroom remodel—with its associated high costs, lengthy timelines, and disruptive construction—can be daunting. Fortunately, there is a specialized solution offered by local general contractors that focuses on renewal and cost-efficiency: refinishing and reglazing. New England Reglaze, a Somerville-based company, is a leading general contractor in this precise niche, helping local users throughout the region transform their outdated or worn bathrooms without the expense and chaos of total replacement. They are specialists in giving new life to old fixtures, offering a smart alternative for home improvement projects across the Commonwealth.
Operating as a dedicated general contractor for surface restoration, New England Reglaze manages the entire process of bathroom revitalization. Their expertise lies in what they call "bathtub renovation" and "bathroom refinishing," which goes far beyond a simple surface clean. It involves preparing, repairing, and applying new, durable coatings to existing surfaces like porcelain, cast iron, fiberglass, and ceramic tile. This is particularly appealing to those in historic Massachusetts homes, where tubs and tiles may be structurally sound but aesthetically dated, like the "old blue 1960s tub" that, according to a pleased customer, now "looks brand new." By focusing on this specialized repair service, they provide a fast, affordable, and high-quality renovation option.
The company's history in Somerville, MA, dating back to 1999, demonstrates a long-standing commitment to the New England area. Their founder, a master sprayer, leveraged years of experience to build a reputation for quality work and exceptional customer service. This focus on expertise and training allows them to consistently deliver results that often surpass the client's expectations, as evidenced by a testimonial stating, "He took his time and did everything perfectly! He even did extra coats of primer to be thorough." This level of detail and commitment to thoroughness is what sets a reliable local contractor apart. Furthermore, their specialization in reglazing positions them as a cost-effective solution, with customers frequently noting they are "better priced than past companies" and offer a great price compared to alternatives like replacement.
Location and Accessibility for the Massachusetts Community
Strategically located in Somerville, New England Reglaze is well-positioned to serve the greater Boston area and beyond. Somerville is a bustling historic town known for its unique squares and vibrant community, making it an ideal base for a company committed to local home improvement.

Being based in Somerville allows them to efficiently service surrounding Middlesex County and Suffolk County, covering key Massachusetts neighborhoods and towns. Their local roots provide them with a strong understanding of the common architectural features and renovation needs of New England properties, from historic townhouses to apartment buildings. Their accessibility is a key factor, especially when homeowners or property managers face tight deadlines, such as needing a bathroom updated before a tenant moves in.
Services Offered: Specialized Bathroom and Surface Restoration
While operating as a general contractor in the home improvement space, New England Reglaze concentrates its efforts on surface refinishing, offering services that drastically improve the look and longevity of existing bathroom components. Their core offerings include:
- Bathtub Refinishing and Reglazing: Revitalizing old tubs made of porcelain, enamel, cast iron, fiberglass, and acrylic. This process involves thorough cleaning, repairing chips/cracks, sanding, and applying multiple coats of primer and a glossy new finish.
- Ceramic Tile Reglazing: Renewing ceramic tile surfaces in bathrooms, showers, and on walls. This eliminates the need for messy and expensive tile demolition and replacement, restoring the grout and tile to a fresh, clean look.
- Shower Refinishing: Resurfacing fiberglass showers, shower stalls, and shower pans to address wear, staining, and outdated colors.
- Sink Refinishing: Applying new durable coatings to cast iron and porcelain sinks to remove minor chips and restore the original sheen.
- Countertop Resurfacing: Refinishing bathroom countertops, including filling in cracks and providing a reglazed surface that can mimic various colors and textures, including natural stone.
- Bathtub Renovation and Repair: Fixing cosmetic problems on bathtubs quickly and cost-effectively, acting as a full repair service for existing surfaces.
- General Bathroom Remodeling: While specializing in reglazing, their services fall under the broader umbrella of Bathroom Remodeling and Home Improvement, offering a focused approach to renovating the space.
- Repair services are a noted offering, which is critical for restoring damaged surfaces before the new coating is applied.
This highly focused service model addresses a significant need in the Massachusetts renovation market, providing a functional, beautiful result at a fraction of the cost of traditional remodeling.
Features and Highlights for the Local User
New England Reglaze emphasizes customer value and high-quality results, making them a preferred choice for residential and commercial property owners throughout Massachusetts.
- Cost-Effective Renovation: Their primary feature is the ability to achieve a "looks brand new" result at a significantly lower price point compared to full tub and tile replacement, maximizing the home improvement dollar.
- Quick Turnaround: Reglazing jobs typically take only hours to complete, minimizing the disruption to a household or the downtime for a rental unit, which is highly valued by property managers. They are known for their ability to meet tight deadlines, with one client relying on them to complete a job within a 7-day tenant move-in window.
- Durable, Proprietary Product: They use specialized products and coatings, such as Glass-Tech 9000™, which are designed to fuse to the original surface, providing excellent protection against impacts, stains, and chemicals.
- Versatile Material Handling: They can resurface a wide range of materials found in New England bathrooms, including porcelain, cast iron, fiberglass, and ceramic tile.

What is Worth Choosing New England Reglaze?
For Massachusetts homeowners, landlords, and property management firms, choosing New England Reglaze as your general contractor for bathroom surfaces is a practical and financially smart decision. What makes them worth choosing is their unmatched specialization in reglazing and refinishing, coupled with the professionalism of a local general contractor. Unlike a standard remodeling contractor who might default to replacement, New England Reglaze prioritizes preservation and renewal.
The quality of their application—including "extra coats of primer to be thorough"—highlights a dedicated craftsmanship that ensures longevity. Their ability to transform a deeply stained or outdated "Old Tub" into one that "looks brand new" addresses a core need in the region's diverse housing stock. They offer a solution that is less messy, faster to complete, and significantly cheaper than ripping out and installing new fixtures. For a property manager, this translates to minimal vacancy time and maximum tenant appeal. For a homeowner, it means a luxurious-looking bathroom without the luxury price tag. Their commitment to meeting deadlines and delivering a superior finish, as repeatedly attested to by local customers, cements their status as the reliable, specialized choice for surface restoration and cost-effective bathroom renovation throughout Massachusetts. They provide the perfect blend of specialized expertise and general contractor reliability.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Great customer service and quality work!!!! I found this company after my go-to re-glazing company couldn't fit me in for 2 weeks. With a tenant moving in 7 days I had to take a chance with a new vendor and I am SO HAPPY I DID!!! He took his time and did everything perfectly! He even did extra coats of primer to be thorough. On top of being able to meet my deadline it was better priced than past companies I have used. New England Reglaze will be my go-to from now on!!!!

August 30 · Scott WoolfI've used NE Reglaze 2 time and both times I was super pleased with there professionalism. Appointments were made shorty after my request, workers show up on time and ready to work, work preformed was beautifully executed and workers left no trace except a smooth and pretty tub. Would recommend to any needing the service.
December 22 · Jess MartinezJose was respectful of my place, and did an amazing job. I literally couldn't have asked for a better situation. 5+ stars!
