Appalachian Tubs Introduce
For many homeowners across Georgia, particularly those restoring historic properties or seeking specialized, high-quality finishes in their master baths, the tub is often the centerpiece of the design. Appalachian Tubs, located in Kingston, GA, is not a general contractor in the traditional sense, but rather a highly specialized Bathroom Remodeler with a primary focus on the restoration, refinishing, and specialized installation of bathtubs, most notably classic clawfoot and cast iron models. They cater to a niche market of Georgia residents who prioritize the aesthetic and historical value of a beautifully refinished piece over a standard off-the-shelf unit.
The business, guided by the work of Mr. Daryl, centers its service around the craft of tub refinishing, offering a unique opportunity for Georgia clients to own a stunning, revitalized piece of history. Their website, as noted by customers, showcases "pretty amazing photos" of finished tubs, demonstrating a level of artistry and skill that sets them apart from typical mass-market suppliers. This specialization makes Appalachian Tubs a critical resource for interior designers, home builders, and individual clients in the Kingston, Bartow County, and broader Atlanta Metro regions who are looking for unique, high-end bathtub solutions as part of their bathroom remodeling projects.
While the quality of their finished products is often praised as "beautiful" and "beyond impressive," potential Georgia customers should recognize that this specialized focus often comes with a highly individualized business model. The company operates from a shop behind the owner’s home, indicating a small-scale, deeply personal operation where the owner, Mr. Daryl, is directly responsible for both the craftsmanship and the customer management. This model can lead to exquisite work but may also result in highly personalized service interactions and logistical constraints, which prospective clients should consider when managing their project timelines and expectations for after-sale support.
Location and Accessibility
Appalachian Tubs is situated in Kingston, Georgia, placing it within reach of homeowners in Bartow, Floyd, Cobb, and other surrounding counties. Its location caters primarily to clients who are seeking specialized, custom services rather than a high-volume retail experience.
The business address is:
1915 Euharlee Rd SE, Kingston, GA 30145, USA
It is important for Georgia clients to note that the business operates from a specialized workshop environment, described by customers as a "shop behind his home." Since this is a specialized service, the primary interaction is often focused on phone consultation and product pickup, rather than a large retail showroom experience. Customers from areas farther away, such as those traveling 2.5 hours, generally rely on phone contact to manage logistics, underscoring the regional but specialized nature of the service.

Appalachian Tubs Reviews
While planning to build our new home, I did some research to determine the costs associated with purchasing a refinished clawfoot tub for our master bath as opposed to purchasing a built in soaker or jet tub. I came across the Appalachian Tubs website, viewed some pretty amazing photos of refinished tubs, and made a call to speak to Mr. Daryl about his work. After a few weeks of figuring out what I wanted, I placed my order with Mr. Daryl who graciously held my tub until it was ready for install. My husband and I made the drive to his business (which is located in a shop behind his home) to pick up our tub. I must say that we were beyond impressed with his work and were so excited to be taking home this refinished piece of history. A week or two after the tub was installed, I received a call from my contractor who sent me pictures that showed bubbling in the finish of the tub. I immediately forwarded those pictures to Mr. Daryl who disagreed that they were bubbles and insisted that someone dropped something in the tub. Now, mind you, all work in the master bath was finished and no one was around the tub since the two weeks prior. Since there was a disagreement about how the bubbles got there, Mr. Daryl offered to mail me a "touch up kit" since we were "too far away" (approximately 2.5 hours) from him for him to come and complete the repair. 3 weeks went by and there was still no kit mailed, so, I made contact again only to find out that he'd been "sick" and hadn't had time to mail it out. After 3 more unanswered contacts and 2 months passed, I notified Mr. Daryl that I would have to post a negative review due to his lack of customer service after the sale. His reply was a phone number where I could PURCHASE a touch up kit myself. While his work is beautiful, he has no desire to ensure that his customers are completely satisfied with their purchase after the check written to him has been cashed.
April 05 · Jennifer WatkinsThis review is based on customer experience bc we never even got to the service part. I was given there name by a very reputable plumber and called him to repair a tub. The original agreement was he would call me the night before by the end of the week and make arrangements to give an estimate/work on the tub. I told him my husband would like to be here when he comes by to see what he plans to do so we can make a decision. I asked him to come by Thursday or Friday and he was busy but said he would call. (husband works 3 miles from home) no call from him but he called on Wednesday during the day and said he had a cancelation and could come by then. We'll, I was in the middle of a mammogram. I asked him for some references so my husband could see his work or website. He gave a website but no images of tub inlay. I called and asked him to come by the next day. He could not. He called again and wanted to come over but my husband had training and couldn't be home. At this point my husband asked again for references so he could check out his work and if he was satisfied he would not need to be home for his visit. Mind you almost two weeks. A few days later he texts me with numbers and asks me to call. This is the UNSATISFACTORY PART. I called. He tells me he has "feelings" about people that are "trouble makers" and he would just rather not do work for those type of people. I was floored!!!! I said Bill we know nothing about tub repair. We have never had a cracked tub and would like to make an informed decision about the process before hiring someone. He said well, I have so much work that I could hire three more people and still have plenty of jobs to do without doing little jobs like this. At this point I felt like I was almost having to justify myself to him to come over. We settled on a time and day at 930ish at night. The rest of the night and the next day what he said bothered me so much that I canceled. I have never had to beg for references! I have never had to grovel to PAY someone to do work for me. It was uncalled for. It was unprofessional. You know if $450.00 is so little that you don't need my business then I will find someone who will appreciate it.
